Ray Cooper – As I Roved Out
Ein Stück live aus Malmköpng von Ray Cooper
As life slows down……as we go into more and more physical isolation, so we reach out more through talking from a distance.Just 9 days ago I announced the cancellation of my UK and German tours. I had just played a concert in the lovely Hop Barn in Lincolnshire. This is a converted barn near Southwell which is also a residential rehearsal space for artists and dancers. There are rooms backstage where I was staying and late on Saturday night after the show I could not resist going back into the auditorium and playing on the old Bechstein piano. 'As I Roved Out' is an old Irish song that I like to imagine my great grand parents may have known. My great grandfather from county Cork played the piano and I was told he was a great music lover, he counted the Irish songwriter Percy French as a friend. I still have a lovely old leather bound edition of Bunting's 'Ancient Music of Ireland' that belonged to him. Think of this as busking and here is the hat.. www.paypal.me/raycooper
